Industrial engineering / Analytics / Automation

Vignesh Gundesha.

I connect the details of a process to the decisions that move a business forward.

My background is in industrial engineering and operations research. I've worked across hospital operations, asset management, manufacturing logistics and technology entrepreneurship. Today, I build systems that turn structured and unstructured data into useful decisions, and turn repetitive processes into software.

I care about the whole journey: where data comes from, whether a measure can be trusted, how people use the result, and what happens when something goes wrong. A useful dashboard is the beginning. The real outcome is a better decision or a task someone no longer has to repeat.

Experience that connects

Different environments.
A consistent way of thinking.

Entrepreneurship2021–2023

Build, operate, learn.

I founded Hashrate Alpha Tech LLP, a cryptocurrency-mining venture. Building an operation added a founder's perspective to my analytical background: technology choices have to work in the real world.

Asset management at UBS2019–2021

Bring clarity to consequential decisions.

As an associate and business analyst at UBS, I built dashboards for portfolio management teams serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth investors globally.

Healthcare2013–2019

Make the operating system visible.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, I supported hospital operations with analytics across seven surgical locations: University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital East, the Eye and Ear Institute, and Crane Sports Medicine. My work connected perioperative leadership, operating-room teams, sterile supply and financial planning, including the 18-room James operating-room environment.

I built 30-day surgical-volume forecasts to identify shortfalls against monthly budgets; dashboards comparing room and surgeon performance; staffing models accounting for case length, case mix and staff absence; and surgical-instrument inventory and contamination-risk models.

For the robotics program, I translated equipment usage and return per surgery into decision thresholds for a $1.4 million capital purchase: six robots, about $8.2 million in capital expenditure. My work also delivered $500,000 annually in reduced OR overtime payouts.

Manufacturing logistics2011

Improve the process without stopping the line.

At Mercedes-Benz in Pune, I helped redesign distribution and storage for 1,500 small parts used across C, E and S-Class production lines, while keeping production supplied during the change.

How I approach the work

Digital Art - My Collection

Art. Code. Identity.

CryptoPunk 9076CryptoPunk #9076

CryptoPunks

CryptoPunk #9076 brings together pixel art, code and a distinct visual identity. A wink, a blue glow and drifting pixel smoke give this small canvas a little life.

Created by Larva Labs in 2017, CryptoPunks is a collection of 10,000 distinct, algorithmically generated 24 × 24 pixel characters. Its history helped shape digital collectibles, with ownership and transfer provenance recorded on Ethereum.

Pudgy Penguins

Four characters from my collection: #1425, #2619, #5346 and #3651. Round glasses lift for a look, a familiar wink opens and closes again, and the samurai flips into the frame for a few clean cuts before returning to his portrait.

Launched in 2021, Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8,888 characters. I enjoy the way a few expressive details give each one its own personality.
